Summary
Talk Like is designed as a local-first practice app. For the MVP described on the TalkLike overview page, your practice sessions, transcripts, metrics, and audio files are stored on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData). We do not operate a Talks Inc user account or cloud sync for this MVP.
What the app collects and why
Audio you record. When you start a practice session, the app captures audio so it can be transcribed and analyzed. Audio is processed as part of the save flow you initiate.
Transcripts. Speech is converted to text so the app can compute metrics (for example pacing, filler words, pauses, and a clarity-style score). Transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech APIs where available.
Metrics and session metadata. The app stores scores, summaries, timestamps, optional topic text, and related fields so you can review history and insights.
Where your data lives
Session data for this MVP is stored on your device in the app’s sandbox. Uninstalling the app may delete that data according to iOS behavior.
Microphone & speech recognition
The app requests access only to use the microphone and speech recognition for features you start (recording and processing). You can change permissions in iOS Settings.
Analytics, ads, and sale of data
This MVP site and policy describe an app focused on local practice feedback. If Talks Inc adds analytics, crash reporting, or cloud services in a future version, this policy will be updated before those features ship.
Third parties
- Apple provides the operating system, App Store distribution, and on-device frameworks (including speech and storage).
- Links in the app or on this site may open Talks Inc web pages in Safari; those pages are governed by their own notices where applicable.
Children
Talk Like is not directed to children. Parents and guardians should manage device permissions and App Store controls for minors.
International users
If you use the app outside the United States, your device-stored data remains subject to your device security and local law. Talks Inc is headquartered in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the product or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when we publish a material update.
